You don’t have to sacrifice taste to be healthy

Route 66 Nutrition, located on North Courtenay Parkway, opened in July, although it has surely not gotten enough recognition for its amazing menu and environment.

The restaurant  is a family owned business and their menu consists of many delicious foods and drinks, but most of all, they are all extremely healthy and high in protein. One of their most popular items are their protein shakes. When many think of protein shakes they could imagine them having a weird, gritty taste.  Route 66 uses higher quality protein to ensure that their shakes will still taste as delicious as a milkshake created with ice cream. Owner Jessica Parker says, “Since my husband and I are into working out and keeping a healthy lifestyle, we realized that most places out there serve foods high in sugar, carbs, and fat, and extremely low in what our bodies really need. Which is, protein, fiber and vitamins. So, our shop is based on that. Everything on our menu is made in high protein with the goal of it still tasting good.”

The design of Route 66 is actually based on the owner’s lifestyle. This couple absolutely loves traveling and actually travel six months of the year in their camper all over the US. And, with one of their favorite roads to take being Route 66, you can see that the owners add their personalities and life into their business. Not only is it just Route 66, but with a bit of a twist. The owners as well wanted to give their place a 1950’s vibe. “We really wanted our customers to come in here and feel like they are back in the years and just enjoy themselves.” Parker quotes.

The owners’ goals were succeeded, because the customers feel a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere at Route 66. Almost every customer is in shock when they figure out they are eating a delicious donut, that is actually benefiting their health rather than filling them up with carbs and fat. Recurring customer Hailey Jones, says “ The environment at Route 66 is always so welcoming, and you can really feel the sense of a family aspect. Not only is it very homey and inviting, but it is extremely healthy as well.”

So, if you’re on your way to the gym or getting back, an amazing place to stop is Route 66 Nutrition. Even if you’re just looking for a comfortable and healthy environment to enjoy delicious foods make sure to take the quickest route to Route 66.
