Star Wars is one of the most iconic franchises in film history and is continuing to continue their legacy to this day. The future projects known so far that will continue this legacy is Ashoka, Star Wars: Rangers of the New Republic, The Acolyte, Lando, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, Untitled Taika Waititi Film, Rian Johnson’s Star Wars Trilogy Episode I, A Droid Story, Untitled Kevin Feige Star Wars Film, and Untitled J.D Dillard Star Wars Project. Let’s go into a little more detail about each of them.

Ahsoka

Releasing sometime this year is the continuation of Ahsoka’s story after her events in The Mandalorian. Ahsoka will be released as a show streamed only on Disney+. No plot details have been released yet, but most people think that it will take place after Star Wars Rebels with Ahsoka’s search for Ezra Bridger, or Ahsoka’s hunt for Grand Admiral Thrawn. Currently, this project is still being produced. This project will tie up Ahsoka’s story and will most likely show how she learned the ways of The Force. It is unclear whether the Mandalorian will show up in this film to aid Ahsoka like he did in Mandalorian season two. It has been announced that Hayden Christensen will be involved in this movie as either Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader. However, it would only make sense for him to be seen in flashbacks as this show will take place after his death. It was also announced that Sabine Wren, a Young Mandalorian Warrior from the animated series Star Wars: Rebels, will also make her appearance.

Rangers of the New Republic

This will be a new show released on Disney+ which will focus on a group of New Republic leaders during the same time as The Mandalorian. It is also said by producers that it will cross over with The Mandalorian and Ahsoka. The development of this show has been postponed, and no further details have been released about it. This show will supposedly take place during the liberation and defeat of imperial soldiers at Mandalore.

Star Wars: The Acolyte

This film will be eight episodes long and take place a century before the events of Luke Skywalker. It will focus on the High Republic and ancient Jedi. This will be a mystery film, as well, and will feature a lot of martial arts combat with lightsabers. The main story will be about a young Padawan who unites with her master to figure out a mystery. Lucasfilm has announced that the lead in this film will be Amandla Stenberg. This film will be an interesting one, as producers will be incorporating several new characters from the comics. It is also rumored that Darth Plaguis whom Emperor Palpatine described in Revenge of the Sith will also make his appearance in this film. The official release date is to be decided, but from the production timeline, it is predicted that it will release sometime later this year.

Lando

The backstory to Han Solo’s close friend is currently in production, and the release date is to be decided, but it is expected to release in later this year. This will take place before Lando even met Han Solo but may incorporate their crossing of paths in the end of the film. This film will focus on his adventures as a scoundrel and show us more of who Lando really is.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

Skeleton Crew is currently in production and is being directed by John Watts, most famously known for his Tom Holland Spider-Man Movies, and is set to release sometime this year. This will be a show on Disney+ about a group of kids who are lost in the vast Star-Wars galaxy and are trying to find a way back to their home planet. This story will take place during the events of The Mandalorian, so there have been various theories that these kids could find Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Training school on their journey back home. The Director has informed us that even though the main cast is mostly made up of kids, this show is in fact not a kids show and will include some darker outcomes in its plot. We have also been informed from John Watts that filming has just started to take place.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron

Set to release on December 22, is a story about a new generation of X wing pilots after the events from the sequels. The director, Patty Jenkins, who is most famously known for directing the Wonder Woman movies, said that there will be a lot of ideas and concepts from the Rogue Squadron video games incorporated into this movie. Since this movie takes place after the sequels, it is very possible that we could see Poe Dameron make his return in this movie.

Untitled Taika Waititi Star Wars Film

From the director most famously known for Thor: Ragnarök will be a new, unexpected, and unique film set to release in 2025. From what we know so far, this movie could take place at any time in the Star Wars galaxy, so Taika basically can make anything he wants with this new Star Wars Film.

Rian Johnson’s Star Wars Trilogy: Episode I

Set to release sometime in 2027 is the first episode of the next era of the Star Wars galaxy. This project has had several delays for starting production, as the director has had several projects such as the Knives Out sequel, Glass Onion, and the second sequel, as well. He is now working on making time for this project.

A Droid Story

The two most famous droids in the Star Wars galaxy are finally getting their own movie. This will be about a series of epic adventures that C-3PO and R2D2 have completed by themselves. One thing to look out for in this film is the CGI, as the developers of this project have said that there will be some stunning CGI in this film. It is unconfirmed whether or not this film will be a separate timeline than the events of what happening in the cannon films or if it will be a continuation off of The Rise of Skywalker and lead up to events of the Rogue Squadron show. The release date of this film is to be decided and, no news has been said about the state of production they are in for this movie.

Untitled Kevin Feige Star Wars Film

Not much of this film is known, but what is guaranteed is that it is in good hands. Kevin Feige is a great producer, and this film won’t disappoint. What we do know is that this will be disconnected from the current Star Wars films and will be very family friendly. As of now, this film is currently in development.

Untitled J.D Dillard Star Wars Project

It is unknown whether this film will be a show series on Disney+ or a Movie. This film will focus on a group of Stormtroopers from the First Order who were taken from their parents and forced to fight for them. They make an operating a plan to rise up and escape from the First Order. This project is currently in development.
