Senior Lindsey Angermeier has been chosen for the Girls All Cape Coast Conference Team. Mr. Kaltenbach, the Athletics Director for Edgewood, is very proud of her and the whole team for their outstanding performance this past season.

“As a program and as an athletic department, we are incredibly proud to see our athletes recognized for their accomplishments. We obviously know Edgewood’s reputation as an academic institution, but it is very validating to have our students recognized for being gifted athletes as well,” he said.

Players from a variety of teams are nominated by head coaches and athletics directors across the county. They take into consideration your performance, sportsmanship, and teamwork. The nominees are then voted on by the coaches and athletic directors. Lindsey Angermeier received enough votes to put her in the top twelve for girls basketball, placing her on the CCC team.

Lindsey is very excited to be on the team. She is happy to see her hard work being recognized and paying off.

“This is a huge thing for me because typically members of the All CCC basketball team are from the bigger schools such as Palm Bay, Cocoa, and Viera…I feel really excited because I don’t think there has ever been a girl’s player from Edgewood to make the All CCC team for basketball, so it’s a really nice thought to be the first.” said Angermeier.

Lindsey put in a lot of hard work to get on the team, but the girls basketball success isn’t just up to her. She has a whole team to support her and help her achieve greatness.

“The girls basketball team set all sorts of team records for wins, such as playoff advancement and state rankings. Lindsey played a major role in all of that, but ultimately, it is a team game. We are fortunate to have a very strong team around her, and Lindsey was really the push that group needed to make it to the next level,” states Kaltenbach.
