Edgewood’s eighth grade students went on a field trip February 15. They went to the Harry T. & Harriette V. Moore memorial park in Mims. Each student was required to fill out a scavenger hunt paper. There were four places that they visited. First, there was the timeline room where they received a walkthrough of black history involving the Moore family. The next place was a replica of the house where the Moore family lived before their house was blown up by a bomb. In the house, there were three bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, and a kitchen. The replica house was filled with artifacts from their real house. Third, there was a trial that explained more about other people who worked as civil activists. The last place was a conference room where they heard the ballad of Harry T. Moore. After that, they were on their way back to school to enjoy the rest of the school day.
